In the path she has taken, Karima El Amrani has encountered many different dances. Some of them still stick to her. In this first solo, she questions the body as an interface for encountering and constructing different gestural representations. What are these experienced or fantasized dances? How do they pass through us and meet our bodies?

Biography

Karima El Amrani began dancing in Aurillac with Vendetta Mathea and was trained in contemporary dance at the CNSMD in Paris. She moved to London in 2011, where she worked with Hofesh Shechter. Since 2013, she has been working with Christoph Winkler in Berlin, Clod Ensemble in London and Compagnie 7273 in Geneva. At the same time, she certifies as an ashtanga yoga teacher and joins the choreographic projects of David Drouard, Damien Jalet, Adriano Wilfert Jensen, Thomas Lebrun, Myriam Gourfink, Dalila Belaza and Guilhem Chatir.

In 2018, she created the Smitten company, which hosts her creative projects and facilitates a monthly discussion group for dancers entitled En Conversation. In 2021, she will create the duo Les Figures de l'attention with Anne-Sophie Lancelin, and is preparing a new trio creation for the 25-26 season.
